Young workers and other young advocates for Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) can participate in the SafeYouth@Work Congress and SafeYouth@Work Media Competition taking place in the context of the upcoming XXI World Congress on Safety and Health at Work in Singapore in September 2017. The World Congress would welcome additional applications from Malaysia, Thailand, and Lao PDR.

SafeYouth@Work Congress: The SafeYouth@Work Congress (opens in new window; link is on the left side) taking place as part of the forthcoming XXI World Congress on Safety and Health at Work taking place in Singapore in September 2017 is inviting applications from young workers, young employers, young government officials, and other young advocates for Occupational Safety and Health (OSH). The SafeYouth@Work Congress will see participants working together to identify the key elements of an Action Plan on OSH for Youth. Successful applicants will be invited to travel to Singapore to participate in the XXI World Congress on Safety and Health at Work. The ILO and the Singapore Ministry of Manpower, the host of the XXI World Congress, will pay for all international travel, accommodation and other relevant costs associated with such participation. Important update! The deadline for applications to participate in the SafeYouth@Work Congress has been extended to: Sunday 18 June 2017 midnight Central European Time (CET).

SafeYouth@Work Media Competition: The SafeYouth@Work Media Competition (opens in new window; link is on the left side) presents the opportunity for young people around the world to submit a film, photo, poster, story, song or any other type of media that talks about what workplace safety means to them. Winning work will be showcased at the forthcoming XXI World Congress on Safety and Health at Work taking place in Singapore in September 2017, and will be featured on the YouTube channels of both the International Labour Organization (ILO) and International Media Festival for Prevention (IMFP) as well as the SafeYouth@Work Media Competition Website. Winners will receive a signed award certificate from ILO. Winners in the 18 – 24 age category will be invited to Singapore to participate in the XXI World Congress on Safety and Health at Work. The ILO and the Singapore Ministry of Manpower, the host of the XXI World Congress, will pay for all international travel, accommodation and other relevant costs associated with such participation in the World Congress. The SafeYouth@Work Media Competition is open to young people aged 15 – 24. The closing date for entries is Friday 30 June 2017.
